About Nsobola
From one coop to 462 villages
Nsobola Agro Ventures was born from a simple truth: a single mother with a poultry coop and veterinary support can break the cycle of poverty. Founded in 2016 by Dr. Richard Ssebunya, we operate in 462 villages across central and western Uganda.
Our name means “I can” in Luganda — the mantra of every woman we serve. We combine modern biosecure poultry, cooperative savings, and rotational micro-enterprise to create lasting change. 98% of our members are single mothers; all are trained in business and animal health.
Support a mother Explore our model“I started with 25 chicks. Now I have 200, my children are in school, and I trained three other mothers. Nsobola means I can.”

Our co-founders: a veterinarian, a community developer, and five regional coordinators — all women. Every coop is visited weekly by a trained paravet.
